The Check is in Your Mailbox

Georgie Porgie’s stimulus checks arrive in the mail today for a certain number of Americans. If you’re among the few chosen (according to your Social Security number and you’ve signed up for direct deposit) you should be seeing as much as $600 deposited into your account.
130 million American taxpayers will be getting back about $110 billion through July, which the government hopes will kickstart the lagging economy. Bush and Congress passed the economic stimulus package earlier this year.
For those of us who maybe filed our taxes late, have high numbers as the last 2 of our SS#, or don’t have direct deposit set up, we may not get our little check until mid-to-late end of year.
If you’ve filed your taxes, you’ll get a check. If you didn’t file for whatever reason, make sure you do a little research, because you may have to file a 1040A federal tax form by Oct. 15.
Happy shopping.
